Megalithe by StudioPress is a responsive Genesis child theme, with a widgetized homepage, designed for business websites and online portfolios.
A theme with a responsive design will adapt the presentation of the web page to the screen of the device used by the visitor; be it a desktop, a laptop, a tablet or a smartphone. Hence, such a theme responds to the size and orientation of the screen.
This theme supports natively three WordPress 3 menus – two just below the header (by default), and a third in the footer. You have a fourth option by applying a Custom Menu in the Header Right widget area.
StudioPress Megalithe installs with eight custom widgets:
- Category Menu
- eNews and Updates
- Featured Page
- Featured Posts
- Flickr Photos
- Latest Tweets
- Page Menu

- Secondary Sidebar
- Featured Bottom
- four Footer areas
Megalithe offers the following page templates:

You can set the Default Layout to one column (just the content area), two or even three columns. In the latter case, you can opt for a sidebar at each side, or have two sidebars at the same side of the content area. For each individual post and page, you have the ability to alter the page layout settings.
At the Content Archives you can set your preferences for the blog pages. You can select to display the post content – when applied, until the Read More tag – or the post excerpts. When you opt for the post content, you can limit the content to a certain number of characters.
Although the Featured Image is supported, it is not displayed by default. Enabling the Featured Image on index pages is a matter of checking one box in front of “Include the Featured Image?”. In addition, you can select your desired dimensions for the Featured Image.
Last but not least, you can set your preferred page navigation within the Content Archives box. You are offered three choices: Older/Newer, Previous/Next, or Numeric.
Outside the theme options panel, the Megalithe theme installs two modules for the custom post types Slides and Portfolio – both with its own categories Slideshows, respectively Portfolio Categories/Skills.
SIngle Portfolio pages can display a single image, a slideshow or a video.
You can customize the home page to serve your needs. The content area on homepage can be assembled from the following components:
