Mindstream by StudioPress is a responsive Genesis child theme for professional and personal blogs supporting WordPress post formats offering Tumblr-like post features.

Themes with a responsive layout will adapt the presentation of the web page to the screen of the device used by the visitor, be it a desktop, a laptop, a tablet or a smartphone. These themes respond to screen size and orientation of that screen.

This theme supports natively two WordPress 3 menus.

StudioPress Mindstream installs with seven custom widgets:

  • Category Menu
  • eNews and Updates
  • Featured Page
  • Featured Posts
  • Latest Tweets
  • Page Menu
  • User Profile

This Genesis Child Theme serves five widgetized areas:

  • Header Right
  • Primary Sidebar
  • three Footer areas

The Genesis panel comprehends four pages:

  • Theme Settings
  • SEO Settings
  • Import/Export
  • Readme

The Theme Settings page includes toggle boxes for:

  • Information (General)
  • Custom Feeds
  • Default Layout
  • Navigation Settings
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Comments and Trackbacks
  • Content Archives
  • Blog Page
  • Header and Footer Scripts
  • Header Settings

You can set the Default Layout to one column – just the content area – or two columns. In the two column layout the sidebar can either be positioned to left or to the right of the content area. For each individual post and page, you have the ability to alter the page layout.

Mindstream comes with four page templates:

  • archive
  • blog
  • default
  • landing

Utilizing the Genesis column classes you can have your text spread over up to six columns, instead of the default one column per text area.

This Genesis Child Theme supports the use of WordPress post formats giving it Tumblr-like features. The following post formats are facilitated:

  • aside
  • audio
  • chat
  • gallery
  • image
  • link
  • quote
  • status
  • video

The Featured Image is supported partly, meaning the featured image will show up on index pages and in the grid view, but not on the single post page as the first image. If you would like to display the Featured Image also as the first image in a post, you only have to push the Insert into Post button, which is right next to the Use as a featured image link.

Please note that you will need the Genesis Framework in order to activate and use a Genesis Child Theme like Mindstream. Purchased separately, the price tag of the Genesis Framework is $59.95, and for almost all Genesis Child Themes $24.95.

When Mindstream is going to be your first Genesis Child Theme, you can grab Mindstream including the Genesis Framework for just $79.95.

If you already have a license for the Genesis Framework, you only need the Mindstream Child Theme for only $24.95.

Another option is obtaining the StudioPress Pro Plus Package which includes the Pro Plus Membership. As a StudioPress Pro Plus Member, you get the Genesis Framework and all Genesis child themes – all current 45+ themes as well as all future releases!

In addition, you are entitled to product updates and you will have unlimited access to the support forum. You are allowed to use the framework and child themes on unlimited sites – your own and your client’s. You can become a lifetime StudioPress Pro Plus Member for only $349.95.

  1. I have to give Mindstream Child Theme for the Genesis Framework a perfect score. I love the clean and responsive design. In fact, I am using it in one of my new blogs. Great blog you’ve got here either. It’s nice to meet another StudioPress affiliate like myself. Cheers Wil. :)
